What are AI points?
Points measure PennyPlate-hosted AI use. The app shows the cost for a request before you approve it, and holds the required points while work is in progress. A larger task can cost more than a quick question.
For requests with several parts, completed parts may use points even if you cancel the rest or another part fails. Recovering an existing result or retrying a local save does not create another generation charge. Check Plan & usage and AI request recovery in the app for the current status.
Points are a service allowance, not cash or transferable credits. We do not offer separate point packs.
Refills, without the guesswork
When does Free refill?
Free receives 20 points each UTC calendar month. The exact reset time is shown in your local time in Plan & usage. Unused recurring points do not roll over. Deleting your account and creating a fresh one does not reset that month’s Free allowance; points already used still count.
How does Premium’s monthly allowance work?
Premium receives 600 points for each service month based on your subscription’s service start date. Both monthly and annual billing use that monthly allowance schedule. Annual subscribers do not receive 7,200 points upfront. Unused recurring points do not roll over.
What if I run out?
You can wait for your next refill and keep using your saved recipes and local tools. A Free account can choose Premium when available. Premium also has a monthly limit; it is not unlimited AI.
What happens when I cancel?
Cancel renewal through Apple. Verified Premium access normally continues until the current paid period ends. Once Premium access ends, the Free allowance applies and remaining Premium points do not carry over. Check the app for your current balance and service end date.
Your kitchen stays yours
Premium is optional. Your cookbook, imports, pantry, manual menus, grocery lists and cooking mode remain available without a PennyPlate account. Local tools do not use hosted-AI points; online imports still need a connection.
Hosted AI requires internet access and your permission to share relevant information with OpenAI through PennyPlate’s server. You can withdraw that permission in the app. Generated suggestions can be wrong, so review ingredients and instructions before cooking.
